ABOUT MARISSA DREW

Marissa Drew (She/Her) is an actress born and raised in humble Fort Wayne, Indiana. She currently resides in Muncie as she pursues a BFA in Acting at Ball State University. As a student at Ball State, she has received training in a multitude of areas, including devising, Grotowski’s methods, dialects, Mary Overlie’s Viewpoints, voice work and singing, acting for the camera, combat, and her favorite, heightened text. At school, she is making great strides, her most notable success being her recent standout performance as Constance Bonacieux in the university’s production of The Three Musketeers. When she’s not at school or performing, Marissa works at her local library where she reads to kids, helping them find the joy in reading that has been dear to her her entire life and continues to inspire her in her work as an actress.

She also enjoys anything when it comes to being creative, including cinematic photography, making films with her twin sister, drawing in her sketchbook, writing in her journal, and more.

Marissa is motivated by the connection that theatre brings, both in an actor-to-actor/crew sense and an actor-to-audience sense. She believes there is so much passion that goes into every aspect of it and there is nothing like the feeling of putting your all into creating something with fellow artists and having it impact others. She prioritizes discipline, hard work, and kindness in everything she does. Marissa is specifically passionate about bringing to life Shakespeare, heightened text, and classic stories, and showcasing how they still touch us deeply and are relevant today—tales of adventure, true love, and devastation. She hopes audiences can connect with these rich old stories and find themselves in them, and above all, she hopes that in her work she can be a vessel in that connection and the feeling of awe that comes with watching spectacular theatre.
